Scholarships
The following are the Colombian and international entities that offer scholarships and financial aid to foreigners who want to study in Colombia. This list does not include the scholarship programs foreign universities offer to their corresponding academic communities.
Universidad de Antioquia PhD Scholarship Fund
Through the Rector’s Office Statute 38090 of November 29, 2013, the university created the Universidad de Antioquia PhD Scholarship Fund whose objective is to offer scholarships to pursue PhDs at Universidad de Antioquia. The Graduate Office is in charge of posting the call and administering the resources provided by the Vice Rectorate for Research and the Graduate University System.
Currently, this fund has no open calls.
Universidad de Antioquia Master’s Scholarship Fund
Through the Rector’s Office Statute 41521 of June 7, 2016, the university created the Universidad de Antioquia Master’s Scholarship Fund whose objective is to offer scholarships to study master’s degrees at Universidad de Antioquia. The Graduate Office is in charge of posting the call and administering the resources provided by the Graduate Office and some academic and administrative units of the university. Learn more here.
ICETEX Reciprocity Program for Foreigners in Colombia
Financial support offered by the Colombian government as reciprocity for the existing international cooperation agreements. Through this program, the Colombian Institute for Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad (abbreviated ICETEX in Spanish) gives foreign citizens the opportunity to study specializations, master’s degrees, or PhDs or to conduct research studies in Colombia. Additionally, it offers financial aid to guest professors and language assistants. The program covers all fields of knowledge. Learn more here.
OAS Scholarship Program
The Organization of American States (OAS) grants scholarships to people interested in pursuing graduate studies or conducting graduate research studies in a university or a higher education institution in any of the member states. The studies may be in person, online, or a combination of both. The amount of the OAS scholarship does not exceed USD 30,000 per academic year, including tuition fees, other scholarship benefits, and administrative costs. Learn more here.
